Leeds United’s rising star Rory Mahady suffered a sudden injury during the FA Youth Cup clash against Manchester City under-18s on Friday, May 10, as reported by Adam Pope.

The BBC journalist was present at the Etihad Stadium to witness Leeds’ youngsters succumb to a comprehensive 4-0 defeat against their City counterparts.

Mahady, the 17-year-old talent who joined Leeds in 2022, experienced an injury scare during the game but received treatment and managed to continue playing without significant issues.

On Twitter, Pope noted: “Utd keeper Mahady suddenly goes down with an injury just as he receives the ball. Seems to be ok.”

Thankfully, Mahady’s injury scare during the FA Youth Cup game against Manchester City under-18s turned out to be minor. Despite the setback, he was able to carry on playing for the remainder of the match, alleviating concerns of a serious injury.

Although Leeds suffered a 4-0 defeat against Manchester City, this match provided Mahady with a valuable learning experience. Despite the tough result, the young goalkeeper displayed resilience and made notable saves throughout the game, showcasing his potential and ability to handle pressure situations.

While the outcome wasn’t favorable for Leeds, facing quality opposition like Manchester City will contribute significantly to Mahady’s growth and development as a player. This experience will undoubtedly shape him for future challenges, reinforcing his determination and skills.
