BREAKING NEWS:Mark Davis, owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, owes a huge thank you to Amy Trask…

According to a former Raiders employee, late owner Al Davis pondered selling the team a few years before his death in 2011 due to financial concerns.

Former Raiders CEO Amy Trask, who held the role from 1997 to 2013, told Sports Illustrated’s Hondo Carpenter that Davis once discussed selling the team.Trask described a conversation she once had with Davis, in which he cited the team’s financial problems as a reason for wanting to leave. Eventually, she persuaded him out of it.

“A few years before he died, he got tired of it and told me, ‘Let’s simply sell the entire squad. Let’s simply sell the controlling interest. Let’s sell it. Let us be done with it. This is harsh on you. You’re constantly needing to find us money. You’re going to great efforts to find this. “Let’s just sell the entire thing,” Trask remarked.
Trask went on to say that she does not believe Davis’ son and current owner, Mark Davis, was aware his father was even considering it.

“I don’t think he (Mark Davis) ever knew that his dad had gotten to the point where he just said, ‘Amy, sell the team,'” she continued.

Trask battled on Mark’s behalf to keep Al from selling the team and leaving it to his son.”I looked at Al Davis and told him, ‘You want to leave this team to your wife and son.'” You want your son to join this team. I will find you the money,’ and I went and found it.

“I fought for it so that he could pass it on to Mark,” Trask explained. “And of course, to Carol, but of course, Carol was of the same generation as Al, so ultimately Mark.”

At the very least, Mark Davis should write Trask a thank-you note for what she done.

With those financial limitations and the team’s outspoken desire to re-sign Juan Soto to a mega contract, it seems the Yankees are poised to move on from several of their current players. And a prime candidate will be two-time All-Star second baseman Gleyber Torres.
