MORE IMPORTANT NFL STORY: Mac Jones Shares His Thoughts About His Difficult Trade To The Jacksonville Jaguars

There has been a wild start to the NFL offseason. The New England Patriots formally announced earlier on Sunday that they had dealt quarterback Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick. Although Jones was immediately criticized by NFL fans as a bust, Mac accepted the news calmly. How Mac feels about the deal was revealed in a recent NFL article.

Mac will benefit from returning to his hometown of Jacksonville, even though the deal must be painful for him. With Trevor Lawrence dealing with injuries, he will fight for the backup spot in Jacksonville, and it’s feasible that Mac will play at some time.

According to a report by Mark Daniels of MassLive, Jones intends to approach this new task with optimism. According to what he wrote, Jones is:

“looking forward to the upcoming task.”

Mac has proven to be a highly productive starter at times, despite having a very difficult past couple of seasons with the Patriots, which culminated in Jones being benched this past season.

With this trade, the Patriots now have the third overall pick in the draft, and it is practically a given that they will use that pick to select a quarterback this year. With their third overall selection choice, the team will try to discover their long-term quarterback under first-year coach Jerod Mayo.

Mac Jones, for his part, plans to continue as a backup. With the exception of Trevor Lawrence’s injury, Jones shouldn’t play for Jacksonville. Given that no team other than the Jaguars showed any real interest in signing Mac, he might be done as a starter in the NFL.

According to Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, there were no other offers made for Jones, while ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that the only offer from Jacksonville was a sixth-round selection.
