Yesterday’s 1-1 home draw between the Lancastrians and Huddersfield Town saw Gallagher make his first start since September.

Reporter Alan Nixon of Sun on Sunday said that Williams attended the game to exercise control over the 28-year-old

The Blues have had multiple bids exceeding £1 million rejected, with Blackburn first seeming willing to let Gallagher go before growing hesitant early this week, believing the player’s exit would leave them lacking in front-line personnel.

Lukas Jutkiewicz, a striker for Birmingham, was linked to Rovers late last week. Meanwhile, Watford’s Mileta Rajovic is the top player on Rovers’ list of possible additions, although the Hornets are reportedly seeking about £4 million for the Dane.

TWTD is aware that there was little progress on the agreement at the end of the week, and Gallagher’s debut yesterday further suggests that nothing is imminent.

Williams, a former Southampton striker who is reportedly eager to go, is still a target for the Blues, based on his apparent appearance at Ewood Park yesterday.

Gallagher is also being watched by Stoke City and Sunderland, and yesterday it was claimed that Tony Mowbray, the former manager of Blackburn, would like to sign him to play for Birmingham City.
