Ipswich Town chief executive Mark Ashton says he would love to bring loan star Omari Hutchinson back to the club next season.
The promising young forward, Omari Hutchinson, showcased remarkable growth throughout his debut senior football season, captivating fans with his tireless off-the-ball efforts, mesmerizing skills, and exuberant somersault celebrations. His contributions included 11 goals and five assists from a combination of starts and substitute appearances, with standout performances against teams like Southampton, Middlesbrough, West Brom, Rotherham, Sheffield Wednesday, and Hull.
At the club’s end-of-season dinner, manager Kieran McKenna jokingly requested Hutchinson as a birthday gift, reflecting the fans’ eagerness to see the 20-year-old return to Portman Road for Premier League action. While Ipswich Town’s CEO, Ashton, expressed the desire to retain Hutchinson, he emphasized that negotiations with Chelsea, the player’s agent, and his family will take time.
Despite Hutchinson’s positive experience at Ipswich, with a year left on his contract at Chelsea, his future remains uncertain, with reported interest from European clubs. Ashton acknowledged the need for calm discussions post-promotion and hinted at Hutchinson’s potential return.
Hutchinson’s impressive performances are likely to attract attention from various suitors if Chelsea decides to sell or loan him out again. Ipswich Town, considering several potential targets, is not actively negotiating with any club or player as of yet. With Premier League status attained, the club faces restrictions on domestic loans, necessitating careful planning for the upcoming season.
