NEW TAGERT Ipswich is considering a move to sign a “excellent” gem before Leeds

Even though Leeds United’s automatic promotion from the Championship will surely take up much of their attention, Suffolk Town still has a chance to surprise the Midlands club by signing a future gem in the transfer window.

News of an Ipswich Town move

After just making it back to England’s second level the previous season, Kieran McKenna and Ipswich deserve enormous respect for the position they’ve fought to be in, regardless of the outcome of the promotion race. If they were to win back-to-back promotions, it would be a historical occasion, but it is still unclear if Ipswich can pull off the previously unimaginable since Leeds recently lost the automatic slot.

Ipswich’s transfer philosophy won’t change, regardless of whether they play in the Premier League or the Championship the next season, as they intend to build for the long term. The Tractor Boys adopted a similar strategy during the January transfer window, bringing in 21-year-old Jeremy Sarmiento on loan from Brighton & Hove Albion and 21-year-old Ali Al-Hamadi from AFC Wimbledon.

Now that the summer transfer window is drawing up, McKenna and company may try to add another talented player. The Daily Record claims that after watching Bobby Wales excel while on loan at Alloa Athletic in Scotland’s League One, the Ironmen are considering a bid to buy the attacker from Kilmarnock.

Ipswich will need to defeat Leeds and Stoke City in what might be a close competition if they are to recruit the 18-year-old this summer. By the time the window opens, the Tractor Boys are expecting to have Leeds, another team vying for promotion, behind them thanks to Premier League experience. The adolescent is undoubtedly a talent for the future, but it’s unclear exactly where that future will take them.

Wales is going to be “excellent” in the future.

Wales’s stats paint an outstanding image, and it’s safe to assume that the forward has impressed while out on loan at Alloa Athletic this season, given the interest from the Championship. In just nine games across all competitions this season, the youthful forward has already assisted three goals and scored nine goals. The more game time and goals he scores, the more likely it is that Derek McInnes will need to consider giving the young player a spot in the Kilmarnock first team.

Wales has gained a lot of support in Scotland as well, as evidenced by earlier posts on X: Dedicated to scouting young Scottish players, The Young Team
