Former Town forward released by by newly-promoted Championship club

Martyn Waghorn, previously with Ipswich Town, is currently without a club following the end of his contract with Derby County, who were recently promoted to the Championship.

The 34-year-old returned to Derby for a second stint last summer, transferring from Coventry City, after his earlier three-year period at Pride Park from 2018 to 2021.

During his time with Paul Warne’s team, Waghorn netted seven goals in 27 matches, contributing to their second-place finish in the table with 92 points, marking the conclusion of their two-year spell in League One.

He is among the six players who have been released by Derby County, with two other former Ipswich Town players included in the list: Conor Hourihane and Scott Loach.
