Colchester United have signed Ipswich Town midfielder Fin Barbrook on loan for the remainder of the season.
The 21-year-old made his Ipswich debut against League Two side Bromley in the Carabao Cup in August.
He subsequently went on loan to Lincoln City where he made three appearances, all in the Vertu Trophy.
“The Lincoln one was a really good experience – I wasn’t playing as many games but I was still training every day, trying to improve, and they are doing really well in League One. I definitely learned a lot from that,” he told BBC Essex.
“Hopefully I can get as many minutes as possible [at Colchester] and we can do something special this year.
“I’m raring to go. It’s probably a positive that I haven’t played many games because it means that by the end of the season other players might have gone down in terms of fitness, but I’m going to be on the upward trajectory.”
Barbrook could be in line to make his U’s debut in Saturday’s game against Crewe.
Colchester, meanwhile, have recalled midfielder Max Jolliffe from a loan spell at Yeovil Town, where he made 10 appearances.
