Boxer Frazer Clarke agitates his next opponent by wearing a Norwich shirt on the field against Ipswich.

After wearing a Norwich shirt to agitate Fabio Wardley, Frazer Clarke became the town’s number one public enemy in Ipswich. On March 31, the heavyweight competitors will square off in the ring at the O2 Arena, with Wardley risking his British and Commonwealth belts. To promote the match, they were both present at Tuesday, March 5th’s Championship game between Ipswich Town and Bristol City.

The hometown hero was wearing a suit, walking around the ground flaunting his belts and proudly wearing a club scarf around his neck. Despite being a Manchester United supporter, Clarke accepted his part as the pantomime villain wearing the home uniform of their bitter rivals.

Anthony Joshua, the former two-time heavyweight champion, enters the ring with Francis Ngannou, the rising star in mixed martial arts, after his impressive performance against Tyson Fury.

At Portman Road, he was repeatedly jeered by the home crowd, so he responded by slapping his neck in their direction.

Having gone undefeated in his previous 17 professional bouts, Wardley had a little fun with the boxer from Burton-on-Trent, holding up an Ipswich shirt with the number 8-1 on the back to allude to what his future record would be.

Before their much-awaited match, in which someone’s 0 has to go, the two squared off in front of the dugouts and traded some nasty banter.

With his clothing trick, Clarke borrowed a page from Floyd Mayweather’s playbook. Memorably, “Money” showed up in a United shirt during a press conference in England regarding his bout against Manchester City fan Ricky Hatton.

He’ll be hoping that history repeats itself because Hatton was stopped by Mayweather in the tenth round of their enormously lucrative fight.

A strong outcome helped Ipswich’s chances of gaining automatic promotion to the Premier League. They overcame deficits on two occasions to win 3-2, their sixth successive triumph.
