Ally McCoist and Alan Brazil have shared their predictions for Leeds United, Ipswich Town, and Southampton’s Premier League promotions.
Leeds is one point ahead of fourth-place Ipswich and one point behind second-place Southampton in the Championship right now, with a game remaining for both teams.
Brazil remarked that Leeds and Ipswich, trailing behind unbeaten Southampton and Leicester City, appear “destined” for the play-offs on talkSPORT Breakfast [February 7, 09:29 am].
Brazil said, “Yes,” to McCoist’s suggestion that the only teams vying to follow Leicester in the top tier are Leeds and Southampton.
After that, Brazil changed course and stated that Ipswich could not be completely ruled out. McCoist responded, “No, no, no.” Yes, you replied.
“I said if we can make the playoffs I’d be delighted, and I think that’s what we’re destined for,” co-host Brazil continued. Thus, you have six weeks to apologize.
The championship promotion war is intensifying.
Just a few months ago, it appeared that Leicester and Ipswich would easily win the automatic promotion competition.
Still, Leeds and Southampton have both found their best form recently, while Ipswich has regressed as many had predicted.
To be fair, the Tractor Boys, who were promoted last time around, are returning to the second division for the first time and have excelled.
If Kieran McKenna’s team manages to rediscover some momentum, they could suddenly be favorites to finish second once more.
Leeds United is in a strong position under Daniel Farke to make an immediate return to the Premier League.
While Southampton is enjoying a club-record winning streak, this amazing run must eventually come to an end, right?
Leeds will also not win every game from now until the end of the campaign, but they may still very well be in the running.
Regardless of perspective, this could be the most exciting three-way matchup in Championship history for the second automatic promotion berth.
Regarding other Leeds United updates, Farke should be commended for a tactical choice he made at Elland Road.
