Fever execute a couple of roster changes prior to the 2024 season.

The Indiana Fever made roster changes ahead of their season opener next week, as announced on Friday. They waived rookie guard Leilani Correa from Florida and third-year guard Maya Caldwell. Another player will also be cut before Tuesday.

Correa and Caldwell had limited playing time and no scoring in the preseason opener on May 3 against Dallas. They didn’t play in the recent preseason win against the Atlanta Dream, attributed to the coach’s decision. Correa was drafted by the Fever as the 27th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft.

Caldwell played 30 games last season, averaging 10.1 minutes and 1.9 points. She had signed a training camp contract in January but is now released. Additionally, the Fever extended the contracts of guards Lexie Hull and Kristy Wallace through the 2025 season. Hull was drafted as the 6th overall pick in 2022.

Hull and Wallace, both entering their third seasons, each scored six points in the preseason. Victaria Saxton, a second-year forward, also didn’t play due to the coach’s decision. The Fever’s season begins next Tuesday, with one more player to be cut.
