Hull City head coach facing selection dilemma in quest to tackle Leeds United

After Hull City’s disheartening 2-0 loss to Stoke City last Friday, coach Liam Rosenior seemed deeply disappointed. However, following a clear weekend break, he is hopeful for a strong response from his team in their upcoming match against Leeds United on Monday night.

Rosenior made adjustments to his lineup compared to their previous game against Leicester three weeks ago. Sean McLoughlin replaced the suspended Jacob Greaves, and Noah Ohio earned his first start upfront instead of Abdush Omur, who was placed on the bench.

The performance against Stoke was lackluster, especially in the attacking department, prompting Rosenior to consider changes. Players like Anass Zaroury, Jaden Philogene, and Fabio Carvalho struggled to make an impact, while Ohio, making his debut, had limited opportunities.

Considering Hull City’s recent away performances, Rosenior is likely to revert to a high-press strategy that has been successful in previous matches. This could see Ohio returning to the bench, with Omur rejoining the starting lineup alongside Zaroury, Philogene, and Carvalho in the attacking positions. There’s also a chance Tyler Morton could be brought back into the starting XI, potentially replacing Zaroury.

Predicted Hull City starting XI: Allsop, Giles, McLoughlin, Jones, Coyle, Seri, Slater, Zaroury, Carvalho, Omur, Philogene.
