Andre Breitenreiter explains Huddersfield Town selection decision as Healey reason given

Huddersfield Town’s head coach Andre Breitenreiter has expressed concerns about the fitness levels of some of his players, stating they are currently not fit enough to start matches. Despite a disappointing 4-0 defeat against Swansea City, where the same starting lineup from a previous match performed better, Breitenreiter defended his initial selection, emphasizing the importance of players’ fitness and performance in training sessions.

Breitenreiter acknowledged the expectations from fans to see certain players in action but highlighted that many players are not fully fit and miss training sessions. He mentioned January signing Rhys Healey, who has been limited to second-half appearances due to returning from injury, noting that Healey’s impact often comes when the opposing team is fatigued, allowing him to showcase his abilities more effectively.

While Healey’s fitness is improving, Breitenreiter emphasized the importance of managing his playing time to ensure he can make a significant impact when introduced during matches.
