Hibs’ loss to St Johnstone has been described by Nick Montgomery as “a bad day at the office.”

After the one-goal loss, Montgomery said to Hibs TV, “It’s a bad day at the office for us.” The game got off to a good start, in my opinion. They sat in, and although we had a lot of the ball, we didn’t use it enough. As a squad, we lacked attacking urgency and appeared to be waiting for a goal.

“Unfortunately, that was us today. You could sense that a mistake from either team would probably break the deadlock.”

“We had opportunities to put balls into the box, but we didn’t do that towards the end, and nothing seemed to fall for us today,” he continued. “We reacted a bit too late.”

“That’s not an excuse; we have to give them credit for taking advantage of a mistake and mounting a valiant defense. Our disappointment stems from the fact that we were unable to rejoin the game.

“We must acknowledge that we didn’t do well enough today, accept our loss, and begin preparing for next week. It’s not all bad news, though; we had several strong plays as a team, and we were insufficient to generate any real opportunities.

We required a little bit more faith and a little bit more haste. The players there are aware that improvement is both necessary and possible.
