Stevie Thomas, the club’s lead groundskeeper, has posted a number of images to social media that highlight the amazing improvement in the Leith playing field.

The 2022 photographs were posted yesterday, and they depict the pitch as being quite dreary and heavily wet in several places.

In contrast, the field is lively and immaculate just one day after the Edinburgh derby involving Hearts.

After exactly one year, the contrast is astounding! Significant summertime expenditures made by a proactive and forward-thinking staff will pay off handsomely this season when combined with the implementation of the proper procedures and maintenance schedules! Never lose faith in the procedure

On X, he wrote: “The difference is unbelievable, exactly one year apart! Massive summertime investments made by a progressive and forward-thinking organization are paying off handsomely this season when combined with the implementation of the proper procedures and upkeep schedules! Never lose faith in the procedure.”

In the meantime, Nick Montgomery acknowledges that injury and international obligations would likely cause him to miss five players for Tuesday’s crucial Premiership match against Motherwell.

Martin Boyle, the forward, and Lewis Miller, the full-back, will not be accessible because they are traveling to Abu Dhabi in the near future to reunite with the Australian team in advance of the Asian Cup in Qatar next month.

In a same vein, backup goalkeeper Jojo Wollacott and defender Rocky Bushiri are scheduled to train with the Ghana and DR Congo sides in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Hibs will also be missing five players who were in the starting lineup for the derby due to midfielder Josh Campbell’s ankle sprain sustained in Wednesday’s 1-0 loss to city rivals Hearts. Campbell’s injury might keep him out of the game for almost a month.

Montgomery stated on Friday, “Unfortunately, we’ll be without Rocky, Jojo Wollacott, Lewis, and Martin for the Motherwell game.”

We already have a small roster, and now we’re adding Josh Campbell, who could miss up to four weeks due to a severe sprained ankle.

“It’s not ideal, but we have to move on because we only have one game left before the winter break.”
