Hamilton confirm former Rangers and Motherwell winger Jake Hastie has signed as Hibs loanee Dylan Tait set for exit

Jake Hastie, a winger, has officially joined Hamilton Accies on a season-long loan from Hartlepool United.

The former Rangers and Motherwell player will join the League One team, as Lanarkshire Live Sport revealed earlier this week. The New Douglas Park team has now officially announced the deal, which is valid until June 14.

When Accies’ contract with the National League team expires in June, we understand that the team is eager to make the partnership permanent.

“Jake is a player whom we have been tracking since the summer and he is someone that our Manager, Coaching Staff & Analysts within our Football Department regard highly,” stated Gerry Strain, director of football at Accies.

“With Jake’s middleman and Hartlepool United FC’s assistance, we were able to close the agreement and move it forward when the chance to bring Jake back to Scotland arose.

“As for me, I’m hoping that adding Jake to our already strong team helps ensure that we can make a determined effort to win the league.”

Dylan Tait, who is presently on loan from Hibs, is expected to return to his parent club, the club has also stated.

“After meetings with our Manager, Director of Football, and Club Owner Seref Zengin, the Club can announce that Dylan Tait, our loan player from Hibernian Football Club, will no longer feature for the Club,” the statement said.

“We are now in a process of engagement with Hibernian Football Club at present and would anticipate to being able to provide our fans with a further update in due course.”

The news that Accies’ appeal of Ben Williamson’s red card after last week’s 2-0 victory against Cove Rangers was denied has hurt the team.

Yesterday, the SFA Fast Track Tribunal heard the midfielder’s appeal, and the panel upheld referee Ross Hardie’s initial ruling.

This implies that the former Rangers player, who made his debut in the Cove match, will miss Hamilton’s next two games, beginning with the League One match against Stirling Albion on the road tomorrow.

There will be a pitch inspection at Forthbank at 11 a.m. for that match.
