Prior to Rangers’ arrival, Hearts manager Steven Naismith has discussed the team’s mentality. After a hit-or-miss campaign thus far, Naismith’s team has managed to win the league three times in a row and have now found some sort of consistency.

The Rangers, who are in second place, present a formidable opponent for the Jambos. Hearts, who currently trail Rangers by one spot and eight points in the Scottish Premiership, will be keen to close the gap with their opponents.

With just one loss in the last five games—against the Rangers—Naismith will be happy with his team’s recent performance. They were defeated 2-1 in a hard-fought game at the Ibrox, and Naismith is determined not to lose there again.

During his pre-game press conference, Naismith stated: “I think the first thing is to compete. It’s about competing and being in the game, not about “we need to get a result.” particularly while discussing the Rangers. First, you must have faith. It’s possible that you will lose.

“I’ll take that now, though, and the results will start to roll in if you can leave the pitch saying we gave it our all, we battled them, and it was extremely close. We must agitate them as much as possible and, ideally, take a risk when they present themselves.”

The Hearts manager is hoping that the supporters will continue to support him and his team because of their impressive recent play. “I do consistently say that every game is different,” he continued. We have to give the supporters something to cheer about, pursue, and enjoy tomorrow. It’s about knowing how to rally the support of our followers and use that knowledge as a tool, as it can be really helpful at times.”

Naismith won manager of the month for November, which is a reward for Hearts’ strong play. The Jambos’ manager feels it’s good that their efforts have been noticed. The team won three of their three league games during the month.

It’s a small token of appreciation for all the effort put in in the preceding months. The players and staff put in a lot of effort even when the results aren’t always apparent, so it’s good to be recognized for that.”
