Seven players have signed new contracts with Hearts; two more are still pending.

Tynecastle hierarchy intend to get major assets tied up as soon as possible

Hearts move to sign seven players on new contracts - another two are still waiting

Over the coming two weeks, Hearts intends to add at least seven more players to new contracts. The Edinburgh club has decided who they want to retain for the upcoming season and beyond, and negotiations have already started in a number of those cases.

As of January, players whose contracts are set to expire in the summer of 2024 are free to engage with other interested parties. In order to tie up the men they view as crucial to their future, hearts made the decision to move immediately. They recently came to an agreement with striker Liam Boyce to extend his contract until at least 2025, and additional players are expected to follow.

Goalie Craig Gordon, who is getting close to 41 years old, is eager to stay and conclude his career at Tynecastle Park. The two have had preliminary talks. After recuperating from a double leg break, he is currently striving to get back into the starting lineup.

Craig Halkett, the center defender, and Beni Baningime, the midfielder, both discussed staying longer in Edinburgh with the Tynecastle administration. Although they haven’t responded definitively yet, Hearts is optimistic that both players will commit to their futures by signing a contract.

Alan Forrest, a wings player, should also receive a new contract offer. Similar to Gordon, Halkett, and Baningime, his contract expires at the end of the current campaign. The contracts of midfield players Halliday and Peter Haring are about to expire, but no discussions about extensions have been had with them.

Additionally, Hearts management wants to extend contracts to three young B team players, Makenzie Kirk (19), Ethan Drysdale (18), and goalie Liam McFarlane (19), who they believe have excellent future chances. Once more, next summer is when that triumvirate’s contracts expire.

Hearts is trying to lock players up before Christmas, if at all feasible. As they carry out some crucial forward planning, they expect to obtain an early indication of who is likely to accept the offer to continue with the club.
