The Hearts board has previously stated its stance on the goal-scoring captain.
Hearts’ captain Lawrence Shankland is the name that has been circling the Scottish Premiership rumour mill more than most in recent weeks.
The 28-year-old striker has already netted 13 goals for his team this season in addition to one for his country, and there has been a lot of conjecture that the former Dons player will go down the M8.
Shankland fueled the flames by like a social media post celebrating Rangers’ Viaplay Cup victory. But, he later said the recent conversation only proved he was doing something right in Gorgie.
In a similar vein, the club’s board has declared emphatically that they do not intend to sell its leading goal scorer. The 28-year-old’s efforts will be crucial in the Jambos’ battle for third place because he has already scored 13 goals and is well on his way to surpassing his 2022–2023 total of 28 goals.
The Hearts CEO made his thoughts about the situation very apparent when he spoke at the AGM at the beginning of December. CEO Andrew McKinlay stated, “We’re not looking to sell Lawrence in January.” He further stated that the club has not really received any approaches, despite recent rumors to the contrary.
“I can state with absolute certainty that nobody has contacted us or mentioned anything to us regarding Lawrence’s departure in January, not even agents or clubs. There has been nothing at all about the topic.

Lawrence Shankland addresses the increasing talk about transfers
“Of course we would take into consideration a bid that is exceptionally high if it were submitted by someone.
It is our job as a board of directors to take it into consideration. But we already know how crucial Lawrence is to the team, as seen by the previous few games. Therefore, it would require a truly remarkable situation before we would even consider it.”
It’s still unclear what bids Tynecastle may receive because the window is scheduled to open in a few weeks, but Shankland has pledged to remain focused in advance of this weekend’s match against St. Mirren.
