Former Packers cornerback Al Harris has been identified by Locked on Podcast host Peter Bukowski as a potential replacement for defensive coordinator in Green Bay.

Although I don’t usually believe in wishing reunions well just because they’re reunions, I would be cool with Al Harris taking over as Green Bay’s next DC.

You always suspected that he would make an excellent coach when he was still a player.

a variety of defensive experiences as well.

Al Harris played for 14 years as a cornerback in the NFL and was a superb player. Following brief spells with the Philadelphia Eagles and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he settled in with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Packers for seven seasons, and in 2007 he was selected to the All-Pro team. That year, he also won a pro bowl.

Following his retirement from the league, Harris worked as a coaching intern for the Miami Dolphins for a year (2012). He worked for the Kansas City Chiefs as a defensive and secondary assistant from 2013 to 2018.

In 2020 Harris reunited with head coach Mike McCarthy (with whom he spent five seasons with in Green Bay) as the defensive backs coach.
