Injury Update: Striker adds to Everton’s growing list of injuries

Players on the pitch call for medical teams to attend Beto and Gibbs-White after a clash of heads

After Everton’s match against Nottingham Forest, manager Sean Dyche provided an update on Portuguese striker Beto, who suffered a head injury late in the game. Beto and Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White collided heads, resulting in both players being down on the pitch. Following an eight-minute delay, Beto was safely taken off the field.

Speaking to the Liverpool Echo after Everton’s 2-0 victory, Dyche shared some positive news about Beto’s condition, stating, “It is pleasing at this moment.” He elaborated, mentioning that Beto regained consciousness and demonstrated understanding, which is considered a positive sign after such an incident. Dyche commended the swift response of the medical team and expressed hope for further updates within the next 24 to 48 hours.

Beto entered the game as a substitute for Dominic Calvert-Lewin, with Everton already leading 1-0. However, his appearance was short-lived as Dwight McNeil’s goal, assisted by Abdoulaye Doucoure, secured the victory for Everton with 14 minutes remaining.

Despite Beto’s injury, Everton’s victory moved them five points clear of the relegation zone. However, their upcoming match against Liverpool poses a significant challenge. If Everton can secure another victory, it would further distance them from the bottom three and potentially see Beto return to a team brimming with confidence.
