England’s first-choice goalkeeper will extend his time at Everton to 12 years after agreeing a new contract that runs until 2029.

Speaking to Everton TV, he said he was thrilled to secure the deal, which adds two more years and takes his total commitment to four remaining seasons. He described it as a sign of both his loyalty to the club and the trust Everton have shown in him.

He said the extension gives him the chance to create a lasting legacy at the club and help drive Everton forward, adding that legendary goalkeeper Neville Southall remains the benchmark he hopes to one day match or surpass.

The 31-year-old reflected on his development during his time on Merseyside, stressing that while his game has evolved, his core passion for goalkeeping remains unchanged. He credited Everton and years of hard work for his progress, saying the club, supporters and their unmatched passion have always felt like a perfect fit.

The goalkeeper has earned all 80 of his England caps while at Everton and has made 326 appearances for the Toffees.

His new deal follows recent contract extensions signed by defenders James Tarkowski and Jarrad Branthwaite, both key figures under manager David Moyes.
