The names “Wheezy vs. Wheezy” come from the collaboration between Lil Wayne and Wheezy, who are now working on new music in the studio.

The Young Money leader and the 2019 HipHopDX Producer of the Year are teaming up for a new project that’s expected to drop on April 4.

Here you can locate the pre-save links for Apple and Spotify, however it is still unclear whether the collaboration will be a complete album, EP, or simply a single. Universal Music Group has dropped them.

Ebro Darden may not be one among the many fans who will be ecstatic to hear about the Weezy vs. Wheezy duet.

The radio personality and music entrepreneur advocated for further songs from Wayne, Drake, and Nicki Minaj on the most recent edition of Rap Life Review on Apple Music.

“As Hip Hop fans, I think we’re owed a Drake/Wayne collaboration album,” he started. Alternatively, a single EP. Alternately, a Drake/Wayne/Nicki with five joints instead of seven. Some object. I believe it’s love [between Drake and Nicki]. When the schedules coincide, they’re cool. She had him on her CD, you know?”

The three giants were inseparable in the early 2010s but made less and fewer public appearances together as Nicki and Drake’s careers blew up.

In August 2022, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake graced the stage for the first time in over a decade at Toronto’s Budweiser Stage for the third and final night of Drizzy’s October World Weekend event.

Last summer, Birdman revealed that although his label has been received bids upwards of $4 million to $5 million for only Weezy alone, the figures would treble if Nicki and Drizzy were put to the equation.

“So you know with Nicki and Drake, that shit about $15-20 million a show,” he remarked. “Big facts. A lot of [money on the table]. $4-5million a show. We’ve been promised roughly $4-5 million a concert. That’s without Drake and Nicki.”

Starting with 2021’s Certified Lover Boy, the Canadian superstar’s releases have since been published by OVO Sound and Republic Records. Still, during a 2019 interview with Rap Radar, he swore to stay faithful to the empire Birdman and his brother Slim established.

“I’m always going to be involved in the Cash Money/Young Money imprint,” he stated. “And my loyalty, like I said, always lies there.”
