Superstar pass rusher Khalil Mack of the Chargers is reportedly linked to the Lions. Los Angeles is expected to deal Mack this offseason. If Mack signs, his pass-rush skills, which rank among the finest in the game, will help the faltering Lions defence. Mack might be searching for a team that believes in winning right now because his career is nearing its end, and Detroit looks like a nice fit.
According to Pro Football Focus’ trade proposal, Mack would sign a non-guaranteed one-year contract worth $23.25 million with Detroit in exchange for a 2025 fourth-round pick for Los Angeles. Since Mack uses up a large portion of the Chargers’ contract space, many observers believe a trade this offseason is quite plausible.
The Las Vegas Raiders selected the seasoned pass rusher in the 2014 draft, bringing him to his current position in the league. After that, in 2018, he signed with the Chicago Bears. He left the team in 2021 to play with the Chargers, thus he’s again on the move. Mack is one of the most formidable and accomplished pass rushers in modern NFL history with a career total of 591 tackles, 101.5 sacks, and three interceptions.
While this is just a proposal, some experts believe that this trade can become a reality this offseason given where each team stands. Do you think Mack will sign with Detroit this season, another squad, or remain with the Chargers under new head coach Jim Harbaugh?
