Now that QPR’s Championship status is secure, they are focusing on the summer transfer window to strengthen their squad and avoid relegation battles next season. The Daily Record mentions QPR’s interest in Hearts’ young talent, Rocco Friel, who could be available on a reduced fee since his contract with Hearts expires this summer. However, compensation may be due to Hearts if he leaves.

Friel, capable of playing as a right-sided defender or midfielder, could be seen as a successor to Jimmy Dunne. QPR faces competition from Derby County and Leicester City, who have also shown interest in Friel.

Watford is close to finalizing a deal for Colombian midfielder Elan Ricardo from Equidad, with journalist Mariano Olsen reporting that Equidad will retain 20% of any future sale. Meanwhile, Liverpool is reportedly eyeing Leeds United’s Crysencio Summerville, considering a potential £45 million move as they prepare for managerial changes.

The Leeds United winger has been one of the division’s standout stars and David Lynch has told Anfield Index that it is a transfer that could well take place for Liverpool, with a £45 million price tag touted, although admitted it was still early doors on any move.

He said: “Yeah, I’ve no doubts that Liverpool like him. He’s someone who’s been prolific Championship-wise and done really well.

“Obviously he’s young, it looks like, you know, if you get a young player who’s doing that, putting up those sorts of numbers, they’ll feel like he can make that extra step.”
