Paul Warne rude responds to Derby County and Portsmouth title question

Paul Warne hasn’t given up on Portsmouth winning the League One title just yet and believes Derby County can capitalize on any mistakes during the final stretch of games.

Currently trailing Portsmouth by five points with four games left (although Portsmouth has played one less game), Derby has an opportunity to close the gap. Despite Portsmouth’s favorable position, they face tough upcoming matches against Bolton, Barnsley, and Lincoln.

Derby missed a chance to narrow the gap to two points in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Portsmouth. While Warne hasn’t conceded the title, he’s focused on winning their remaining games.

“I won’t congratulate them like a Bayern Munich manager, but we’ll aim to win the next four games,” Warne said. “If we get 12 points, they’ll still need seven from five games. It’s tough to earn points now.”

Warne emphasized the challenges of the final stretch and expressed uncertainty about whom to support when Portsmouth plays Bolton. He highlighted the importance of fearless play and the feeling of victory, despite feeling disappointed about not securing more than a point in their recent match.
