Dajaune Brown has been in outstanding form for Gateshead while on loan from Derby.
Derby County striker Dajaune Brown continued his impressive run with Gateshead by scoring twice in a 7-1 victory against Hartlepool in the National League last night.
The Heed showed their dominance over a struggling Pools side, with another Derby player, Kwaku Oduroh, featuring at right-back for Hartlepool. Brown opened the scoring with a header and later added a sublime goal with a delicate chip over the goalkeeper, the ball bouncing in off the post, as Hartlepool struggled in the second half.
This was a significant night for Gateshead, who are competing strongly in both the promotion race and the FA Trophy under Rob Elliot’s leadership. Brown’s contributions have been instrumental, tallying seven goals during his impressive loan stint.
However, former Derby coach Kevin Phillips criticized Hartlepool’s performance, labeling it as shameful and embarrassing. He took responsibility for the team’s shortcomings and emphasized the need for a strong response and improvement in upcoming matches.
