Derby County loan star in Wembley heroics amid Newcastle United transfer rumours

Dajaune Brown, Derby County’s rising star, showcased his talent by scoring an equalizer in extra time and netting the decisive penalty to help his loan club Gateshead clinch the FA Trophy at Wembley.

Gateshead’s inability to secure a ten-year tenure on their stadium cost them a National League play-off spot against Solihull Moors. Nevertheless, they faced Solihull in the FA Trophy final, with Brown playing a pivotal role by assisting Regan Booty’s goal and scoring the crucial equalizer before sealing the win in a penalty shootout.

Brown, 18, has impressed during his loan spell at Gateshead, tallying eight assists and nine goals in his first experience of senior football. This form has attracted interest from local rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland, although Brown remains focused on his current performances rather than transfer rumors.

Despite the rumors, Brown maintains a strong connection with Derby County, receiving regular feedback and guidance from the club. BBC Radio Newcastle’s Matthew Raisbeck praised Brown’s exceptional talent and speculated about the possibility of Newcastle United considering him due to his standout performances and potential for development.
