Derby County hunting agreement to keep influential midfielder

Derby County are in a ‘live’ pursuit of influential loan man Ebou Adams, reporter Alan Nixon has said on X.

Derby County secured their return to the Championship on Saturday afternoon, defeating Carlisle United 2-0 to make sure of their 2nd place finish.

The Rams aided their cause with some fantastic additions throughout the campaign, though very few were more influential than the winter signing of Gambia international Adams. He joined on loan from Cardiff City and quickly locked down a starting spot in the middle of the park.

Now, reporter Nixon has now suggested that a deal to bring Adams to Pride Park is ‘live’ as per his X account.

Music to the ears of Derby supporters, no doubt, who have made chants of ‘sign him up’ echo throughout the stands for some time now.

Impactful Adams

Joining Paul Warne’s squad in January, the 28-year-old became an instant hit with supporters after a series of dominant displays from the middle of the park.

Adams quickly became one of the first names on the team sheet, and his contribution to Derby County’s success can certainly not be underestimated.

Warne’s side conceded just seven goals when the Gambian was on the pitch. That highlights how integral he has been to the Rams’ defence, and the loanee also showcased his talent in front of goal with his excellent strike against Blackpool, picking up the club’s Goal of the Season award.

Securing the long-term services of their loan hero would be the perfect start to the East Midlands outfit’s summer business as they prepare for life back in the second tier.

A deal certainly looks doable with just one year left on his contract with the Bluebirds, and Warne will surely be hoping that they add him to their ranks as soon as possible.
