Carlisle United set for bumper last-day away support at Derby

Carlisle United will receive strong support from nearly 2,000 traveling fans during their League One finale against Derby County. Despite Carlisle’s relegation, their loyal fan base, known as the Blue Army, continues to support Paul Simpson’s team enthusiastically until the end.

The upcoming match has already seen United fans purchase 1,137 tickets for the game at Pride Park. This overwhelming response has prompted the club to request an additional 800 tickets from Derby, highlighting the enduring support for Carlisle despite their challenges in the third tier of English football.

The match against Derby, managed by Paul Warne and currently competing for promotion, is scheduled for Saturday, April 27, with a kick-off time of 12:30 pm. This fixture marks Carlisle’s first league visit to Pride Park in the 2023/24 season, serving as their final game before returning to League Two following relegation.

Although it will be their first league trip to Pride Park, Carlisle has previously played at Derby’s current ground during a League Cup match in the 2016/17 season, resulting in a draw and a dramatic penalty shoot-out defeat. Their last league encounter with Derby dates back to October 1983, where they secured a memorable 4-1 victory at Derby’s former home, the Baseball Ground.

Derby County hopes to make this match part of their promotion celebration, as Warne’s side aims for a return to the Championship.
