Broncos draft report card average based on consensus

This is an unusual and unique method to examine the Denver Broncos’ selection grades on the internet.

Broncos Draft Report Card Average Based on Consensus

The draft grades are in, and Denver Broncos fans are aware that while many analysts enjoyed what they saw, some had questions. But what happens when you consider every analyst’s assessment of the Broncos’ draft picks?

How do they stack up against other teams?

Amarius Mims discusses Bengals fit, protecting Joe Burrow, the NFL draft process, and more.

FTN’s Cale Clinton analysed draft grades from 25 NFL pundits to identify the best, worst, and most polarising selection classes. The Broncos received the fifth-worst overall draft grade and the third-most polarising.

When the letter grades from the 25 experts were combined, the Broncos had a grade point average of 2.564, which was calculated similarly to a GPA for a school report card. Denver received ratings ranging from A- from three analysts to D from two analysts.

You can read Clinton’s entire analysis to see the draft analysts he mentioned and his own ideas, but it’s worth highlighting what many Broncos fans will probably suspect: Bo Nix is the player who lowered many pundits’ grades and polarised their draft class.

Given Nix’s age and some pundits’ worries about his potential as an NFL starter, it’s not surprising that the Broncos did not receive great ratings in draft analysis.

Having said that, most observers praised the Broncos’ Day 3 draft picks, which featured wide receiver Troy Franklin and cornerback Kris Abrams-Daine. The former suddenly dropped down the rankings, whereas the latter is believed by some to have starter potential.

While one might question the Broncos’ draft class grade, the focus is now on how these players perform, particularly Nix. Regardless matter how one feels about the Nix selection, how well he performs will have a significant impact on how strong the Broncos’ 2024 draft class is in the long run.
