Basketball fans are in for a treat this holiday season as the Phoenix Suns prepare for their Christmas Day matchup against the Dallas Mavericks, which will set up one of the NBA’s most exciting rivalries: Devin Booker versus Luka Doncic.

Although it’s debatable where this rivalry started, it really took off during the 2022 Western Conference Semifinals.

After the Suns’ incredible regular season, which included a franchise-high 64 victories, they looked unbeatable as they advanced to the NBA Finals.

However, the Dallas Mavericks and Luka Doncic had other ideas.

Luka led the Mavericks to consecutive games of thirty or more points as they trailed 3-2 in the series heading back to the Footprint Center in Phoenix. This finally advanced his club to the Western Conference Finals.

In response to the question of whether they get along, Doncic said, “It’s competitive basketball.”

Even with the heat on the court, Doncic acknowledged his appreciation for Booker, saying, “I love his game; I respect him a lot.”
