Luka Doncic Has 1-Word Response To Question About His Injuries

Luka Doncic #77 of the Dallas Mavericks reacts during the game against the Boston Celticss at American Airlines Center on January 22, 2024 in Dallas, Texas.

The Dallas Mavericks are on their approach to pulling off another apparent upset, winning Game 3 over the Oklahoma City Thunder to grab a 2-1 series lead in the Western Conference Semifinals.

The Mavericks won Game 2 on the road and held on in Game 3 against a Thunder club that dominated the first half.

Luka Doncic hasn’t looked like himself on the court, plainly hindered by various injuries, but he still managed to score 22 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists in 40 minutes.

In previous years, Doncic’s stats would have resulted in a playoff loss, but he now has a capable co-star in Kyrie Irving who can take over in the second half when he runs out of steam.

Doncic deserves respect for persevering through ailments and playing extended minutes, and he revealed to ESPN that his entire body is in pain.

“Everything,” Doncic said.

Doncic has been observed hobbling after each game, and it’s unclear how long his body will hold up as the series progresses.

Oklahoma City may be trailing in the series, but it’s difficult for them to believe they’re out if Doncic isn’t at full strength.

Dallas was salvaged by another clutch performance from Irving, who has looked like his prime self on the court, but he cannot carry the Mavericks to victory on his own.

Doncic should be able to play in Game 4, but his physical condition will need to be monitored for the remainder of the series.
