Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks are coming off an incredible run of games. Most notably, on January 26th, in Dallas’ game against the Atlanta Hawks, Doncic recorded a record-breaking 73 points. Is Mavericks' Luka Doncic playing vs. Kings after 73-point performance? Latest injury update | Yardbarker

A cloudy injury update is given to Luka Doncic prior to the Mavericks-Kings game.

Due to right ankle pain, Doncic is listed as questionable for Saturday night’s game in the NBA’s afternoon injury report for January 27. It will be fascinating to see if the sports training staff in Dallas can assist him in managing his pain before to the game.

The Mavericks’ campaign for the Western Conference has been greatly aided by the talented point guard. With an incredible 34.6 points per game on average, Doncic is only marginally behind Joel Embiid for the league lead. In addition, the 24-year-old pulls down 8.6 rebounds and sends out 9.2 assists a game.

The Mavericks will have to scrounge for offense if Doncic is unable to play against the Kings. Kyrie Irving is usually the Mavs’ go-to guy to take the team’s lead, but he is questionable for Saturday’s game. Dallas does, however, have certain pieces that are capable of finishing the job.

Josh Green, a fourth-year guard, scored 21 points in Friday’s Mavs-Hawks game. If he becomes prolific, Dallas will have a steady supply of offensive players. Furthermore, Dante Exum, a seasoned guard, is a rattled cannon that is about to burst.

On December 12, 2023, Exum erupted for 26 points, four rebounds, and three assists against the Los Angeles Lakers. He is an X-factor who might make a significant difference in the event that Doncic is sidelined.

Meanwhile, the Kings want to keep their momentum going after a one-point victory over the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 25th. Can a Mavs team that may be shorthanded manage to win on Saturday at home? The cutoff time is 8:00 PM CST.
