The Dallas Mavericks took on the Chicago Bulls on Monday night in an attempt to make it three straight wins. The Mavericks were searching for yet another significant road victory after demolishing the Pistons in Detroit.
The Mavs controlled the whole 48 minutes against Chicago, from the opening tip to the last buzzer. The team’s combined efforts resulted in a 127-92 triumph over the opponent from the Eastern Conference. With a career-high 22 points, rookie center Dereck Lively II corrected the record, having struggled in his previous three games.
Daniel Gafford has persisted in demonstrating why he ought to be the starting player going forward after receiving the starting nod for the Mavericks’ last few games. In addition to dominating over this run of several games, Gafford is rapidly focusing on creating history.
Former Mavericks forward Luka Doncic’s demeanor instantly became apparent to him.
Gafford shot 9 of 9 from the field on Monday, and he has now made 28 straight field goals. He is only seven field goals short of Wilt Chamberlin’s record of 35 field goals made without missing.
Superstar Luka Doncic has also been creating history in the previous week, even though Gafford is getting closer to doing so. With six in the victory over the Pistons, Doncic tied the record for the most 30-point triple-doubles in a row. Against the Bulls, he extended his run of triple-doubles to seven.
More recently, former Maverick Grant Williams and Doncic had a humorous moment during practice, which was discussed by Mavericks associate general manager Michael Finley on 105.3 The Fan.
Finley claimed that Williams had been criticizing Doncic for his lack of effort and vigor during practice. While defending Doncic during the team’s scrimmage, Williams persisted in talking trash all over the floor.
Doncic went on a solo 26-6 run in retaliation to Williams’ derogatory remarks. Finley said that Doncic showed it all. Floaters, post-ups, and threes in his 26–6 frame of play. This turned into another example of the proverb “don’t poke the bear.”
