Football: Robins thinks Coventry City is beginning to gain self-assurance.

Mark Robins thinks Coventry City is starting to display some “confidence” following their hard-fought 1-1 draw with promotion-chasing Leeds United.
At Elland Road, the Sky Blues overcame a halftime deficit to earn a point when Bobby Thomas’ header negated Crysencio Summerville’s opening goal.

And after a challenging start to the season, City manager Robins believes outcomes are beginning to favor his team.

“You can see the confidence starting to come through,” stated Robins.

Since I’ve stuck with the same squad to provide them with consistency and rhythm following our strong start, a few of the boys haven’t played much football lately.

“Yet even though we were playing outstanding football, the results weren’t there, but they are now.”Suggested

“You need to make an effort to act in a way that makes sense for the performance and gives everyone an opportunity. You must always consider what the audience will take away from the performance.”I’m incredibly happy for everyone. In any other situation, playing at a place like Leeds is challenging since they are a Premier League squad with elite talent and speed.

Thomas, a goal scorer for the Sky Blues, expressed his manager’s optimism, saying that he hopes City, who have only lost once in their past seven games, can continue their strong run of play throughout the holiday season.

“It was nice to score, it was nice to get that weight off my shoulders and try and get a few more now,” Thomas stated. “I haven’t scored all season.”

“I believe we got off to a rather slow start to the season. We were playing decent football, but we weren’t scoring the points we needed. Sometimes we might not play as well, but scoring the points might be more crucial.

“We seem to be clicking a little more and having a little more organization, but we’re not shipping as many goals,” the coach says. “We’re on a journey with the new players.

“The boys are scoring far more goals and we’re giving them more opportunities to do so.” Let’s hope that this is the beginning of an upward trend.
