The 20-year-old winger scored six goals in 33 games for the Sydney-based side last season.

Rodrigues said: “I’m buzzing, I can’t wait to meet everyone and get started.

“Speaking to the manager and everyone at the club, they showed me a lot of confidence that they believe that I can come here and make an impact.

“I mean, it’s going to be hard, but I think they’ll help me adapt in the best way possible and then help me with this next step in my career.

“It’s been a good 12 months. It’s probably my first season of playing consistently. So, it’s been very enjoyable, and I’ve learned a lot over the last 12 months, and I can’t wait to keep learning.

“I like to be creative and express myself and hopefully I can score a lot of goals and create a lot of assists and just entertain people.”

Coventry boss Mark Robins added: “We are really pleased to welcome Rapha to the club. He is a talented and athletic winger who has just enjoyed an impressive 2023/24 campaign.

“Rapha has some great attributes and a willingness to work and learn, and I’m sure we will enjoy his development during his time with us.”

Rodrigues first joined Melbourne City’s academy in 2017 and his first senior start in the Melbourne Derby in June 2021.

He was also named on the bench in the 2021 A-League Grand Final before scoring his first professional goal in March 2022.

Born in the Netherlands, Brazilian-Australian Rodrigues has represented Australia at youth level having moved there at the age of five.
