Rangers and Coventry City are preparing to make moves for Australian talent Raphael Borges Rodrigues, according to sources from Football Insider.

Rodrigues, aged 20, has been impressing at Macarthur FC in the Australian A-League, drawing attention from several European clubs due to his performances.

The young attacker has netted six goals and contributed two assists for Macarthur FC this season, prompting anticipation of summer transfer bids.

Coventry, a Championship team, have been monitoring Rodrigues for a while, while Scottish powerhouse Rangers are also showing keen interest.

Additionally, League Two club Swindon Town is gearing up for a bold attempt to secure Rodrigues, leveraging the connections of their owner, Clem Morfuni, to entice the player to England.

Originally hailing from the Netherlands, Rodrigues moved to Australia as a child and joined the Melbourne City Academy in 2017. Over seven years, he has evolved into a player attracting the attention of top clubs, offering him a potential path to European football’s grand stage.

Rodrigues primarily operates as an attention-grabbing winger, showcasing agility and a wide array of skills.

His stint at Melbourne City saw limited playing time, with just 11 A-League appearances across four seasons, but he has now established himself as a regular for Macarthur FC, currently fifth in the league standings.

A move to the United Kingdom would represent a significant progression for the aspiring Socceroo, who likely harbors ambitions of following the footsteps of fellow Australian talent Garang Kuol, the teenage Newcastle United striker currently on loan at Dutch side Volendam.
