Two Collingwood players emerged unharmed from a serious car crash in Melbourne just before their preliminary final match against the Sydney Swans. Images from Nine News displayed damage to two SUVs and a truck, with both players seen on the Monash Freeway while authorities managed the scene. Collingwood’s planned flight to Sydney was delayed due to the incident, but the team assured that McCreery will start in the game, while Carmichael will serve as the medical substitute.

Collingwood’s football manager, Graham Wright, emphasized that the foremost concern remains the well-being of Beau, Josh, and the other vehicle’s driver. He confirmed that neither McCreery nor Carmichael sustained any injuries and affirmed that the necessary support will be provided to them during this time.
