TOM Dallison has praised Colchester United and its supporters following his release from the club.
The 28-year-old is one of four first-team players to leave the U’s after being informed that their contracts will not be renewed.
Dallison made 65 league and cup appearances for Colchester since signing from Crawley Town in January 2022.
The popular centre-back is looking forward to a new challenge after leaving the JobServe Community Stadium, but he admits he learned a lot about himself during his time with the U’s.
Dallison wrote on social media: “Been a rollercoaster of emotions over the last three years!”
‘I met some lifelong friends and fantastic folks at the club.
‘I learned a lot about myself throughout this time, adapting to a variety of new settings that I had never encountered before.
‘I only wish we could have had success with this bunch, but I’m confident that day will come soon for the club.
‘Fans have been fantastic to me from the beginning; thank you everyone!
It’s time for a new phase in my profession, something I’m quite excited about.
Thank you for everything, @colu_official, and best wishes.
Up the U’s.
Following the announcement of their retained list, Colchester released four senior players, including Dallison.
John Akinde, Sam Hornby, and Marley Marshall Miranda were also informed that their contracts would not be extended once they expired.
Following several years of struggle at the JobServe Community Stadium, Colchester head coach Danny Cowley has gone about assembling a side capable of fighting at the right end of League Two next season.
This summer, the U’s will see a lot of change as they look for new players to join the Cowleys’ new-look squad.
