Revisions to the Charlton Athletic goal

Edwards might be seen by Charlton Athletic as a way to strengthen their defensive unit while Nathan Jones tries to make his mark on the group.

He made 42 appearances in all competitions during his stellar season in the Scottish Championship with Dunfermline Athletic, with four goals and a respectable nine assists.

The Scotsman started his career with spells as a youngster in the academies at Kilmarnock and Ayr United.

Before being signed by Airdrieonians in 2017, he previously attended the boys’ club Crosshouse Community in Ayrshire. He was just a youngster at the time.

In the same year, Edwards made his debut for the first team. He went on to feature in 39 games before Dunfermline Athletic enticed him to leave.

Since then, the full-back has made a name for himself at East End Park and has seen a lot of playing time lately, drawing the interest of teams from over the border.

Reaching a price match with Charlton Athletic brings the deal one step closer to completion.

Bristol Rovers are still in the running, though, and if they want to lure him to London for the upcoming term, they will have to outbid the Pirates.
