TRANSFER UPDATE: Arsenal attacker set for Charlton loan spell…

The talented youngster made his first team debut for Mikel Arteta’s side during the 1-0 victory over Brentford in the third round of the Carabao Cup last season – and needs further game time to progress his career.

Sagoe Jr spent the second half of the 2023-24 campaign on loan with Swansea City in the Championship.

Arteta also had Sagoe Jr on the bench in Champions League matches as well as the Premier League in the month of  November last year.

The Gooner has been charting Sagoe Jnr’s career to see him make 16 appearances for Arsenal’s academy teams across Premier League 2, UEFA Youth League and the EFL Trophy, netting three goals with ten assists.

However, the wideman, who predominantly features on the left flank, but is proficient with both feet, will be looking to make more of an impact at the Valley than the talented teen did at Swansea, where he struggled to break into the first team, making only two appearances for the Swans this spring.

With Addicks boss Nathan Jones – who replaced previous manager Michael Appleton back in February – allowing winger Kazenga LuaLua to depart the club, Charlton are in need of a left-sided attacker, with Sagoe Jnr fitting the bill perfectly.
