The centre defender will be released by the Addicks and become a free agent on July 1.

Carlisle, who placed last in League One, and 28-year-old Thomas have reached an agreement on a two-year contract.

Paul Simpson, the manager of Carlisle United, stated: “I’m thrilled to have Terell join the team. This is something we’ve been working on for several weeks.

“I think he’s a great addition to the club; he’s a full international, has played English football, and recently returned from playing in a few games for Saint Lucia, where he led the side, so he has leadership skills.

“I can’t wait for him to start working with us,”

In the previous season, Thomas made 40 appearances for Charlton. Michael Hector was not extended a new contract, making Thomas one of two noteworthy defensive exits from Charlton.
