So joyful Brendan Rodgers acknowledges that he is currently smitten with a single Celtic player.

The Japanese forward has been finding it difficult to reclaim the goal-scoring form that during the previous two seasons catapulted him into icon status in the eyes of the Celtic faithful. Rodgers acknowledges that even after losing to St Mirren on Sunday, he is still happy to have him in his team.
As a striker, you certainly depend on your service, Rodgers stated to the Daily Record. He is most effective when he is moving in behind the last line and receiving passes from players who find him, which happens more frequently if there are two wingers on the side who want to rush in behind.
“So, you can see that he’s still a fantastic striker despite the combination of factors.” Additionally, he consistently shows up for the major games.
“You will never be flawless in every game when you play so many, but even so, I’m glad he’s here because he provides us with that genuine threat and penetration.”
The best scorer for Celtic is still Kyogo.
Adam Idah’s arrival in January has undoubtedly given Brendan Rodgers an alternative early on.
Yogo has appeared alienated and cut off from the patient, slow build-up play for far too long. However, that changed on Sunday against St Mirren.Celtic FC v Ross County FC - Cinch Scottish Premiership

For Kyogo’s opener, Idah kept the St Mirren centre-backs occupied which opened up space for the Japanese striker to drive home the opening goal in Paisley.

It was a truly instinctive finish and indicative of what the Celtic supporters had become used to over the past two seasons.

With twelve goals to his name this season, Kyogo is still a long way off from hitting the heights of the previous two under Ange Postecoglou.

The Japanese striker has been struggling to recapture the goalscoring form that elevated him to icon status in the eyes of the Celtic support over the last two seasons.

But after netting his twelfth goal of the season against St Mirren on Sunday, Rodgers admits he is still delighted to have him as part of his squad.

Rodgers said [Daily Record], “As a striker, you do rely on your service. If you have two wingers on the side that want to run in behind, then you get those balls flashed across a lot more regular, and that’s when he’s at his best with those movements in behind the last line and players finding him with those passes.

“So, it’s a combination of things, but he’s still a brilliant striker, you can see that. And he always turns up in the big games as well.

“When you are playing so many games, you are never going to be right on the top of your game in every single game, but I am still so happy he is here, and he gives us that real penetration and threat.”

Kyogo is still Celtic’s best striker

The introduction of Adam Idah in January has certainly offered Brendan Rodgers a different option up front.

For too long Kyogo has looked isolated and cut off from the slow and patient build-up play. But against St Mirren on Sunday that changed.

Idah’s occupying of the St. Mirren center-backs created room for Kyogo’s opening goal, which the Japanese striker scored in Paisley.
It was an incredibly natural conclusion, one that the Celtic fans had grown accustomed to over the previous two years.
Even though Kyogo has scored twelve goals so far this season, he has yet to reach the heights of the previous two seasons under Ange Postecoglou.
However, the Japanese striker might play a significant role in determining who wins the title this season if he can keep getting better and Rodgers can figure out how to get the most out of him.
