According to the most recent reports, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers appears to be moving forward with his transfer plans at Parkhead and is eager to bolster three different positions in January.
Celtic are getting ready to spend big in January.
Even though Celtic made a lot of acquisitions during the summer transfer window, only one of them—the Honduran winger Luis Palma—has proven to be a consistent starter for the Scottish Premiership winners.
Paulo Bernardo, an impressive figure in the center of midfield for the Hoops, is on loan. Despite their involvement earlier in the season, new players like Gustav Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki have not been able to make an impression on Rodgers’ squad.
Celtic is looking to add quality players during the January transfer window.
Clearly expressing his emotions, Rodgers has called for more players to bolster his team. In a late-November interview, the Northern Irishman highlighted the importance of fortifying his forward positions.
“Quality is what we want to add, particularly at the top of the field. Hopefully, we can find a solution for that within the next few windows.”
“We must improve the quality. That is the obvious characteristic of the squad that sticks out. We can proceed and advance once more if we can find players and add to that.”
With games remaining before the New Year, the Hoops and Glasgow rivals Rangers are virtually tied, and the January transfer window may prove to be critical in their quest to reclaim the Scottish Premiership title in May. In order to give himself an advantage in the competition for the Scottish Premiership, a reporter has now determined which positions Rodgers should try to bolster during the midseason window.
Brendan Rodgers is eager to bolster three positions for Celtics…
In an intriguing transfer update, Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider reported that Celtic will try to sign a striker, a central midfielder, and a left-sided winger during the January transfer window. With Kyogo Furuhashi expected to play for Japan in the Asian Cup and Oh Hyeon-gyu already chosen to represent South Korea, a forward is thought to be Parkhead’s top priority.
A prolific midfielder who can contribute goals from the engine room and another wide player to offer strength in depth have also been targeted for recruitment. Although signing a goalkeeper is not thought to be necessary in January, finding a long-term substitute for Joe Hart in goal is on the agenda.
Some names have come to light in the last few weeks regarding potential Celtic targets, including Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Fabio Silva, Hacken midfielder Romeo Amane and Gwangju midfielder Jung. Nonetheless, there isn’t an element of certainty over the Hoops will look to sign once the window opens, meaning we will need to wait and see on that front.
