Report: £3 million Europa League player shows promise as a January addition for Celtic

Celtic send scouts to watch £3m Europa League midfielder

Report: £3 million Europa League player

Celtic is considering a January deal for Romeo Amane, a midfield player.

After a lackluster summer transfer window, Brendan Rodgers is looking to bolster his team, and BK Hacken star Amane is at the top of his list.

Amane was first seen by lower-level scouts in the Celtic setup, according to Football Scotland, and more senior officials are now keeping an eye on him.

According to reports, Bhoys scouts saw Hacken’s most recent away Europa League game against Qarabag. He is now said to be a “serious option” for Rodgers and the hiring team, with the Swedish team seeking to pay him about £3 million.

Romeo Amane’s potential place in Celtic

According to his biography on FotMob, the 20-year-old is an attacking-minded and creative midfielder who ranks well in terms of chances created by central midfielders in leagues comparable to his own.

Alongside current Bhoys talents Matt O’Riley and Reo Hatate, he would compete for one of the two center slots in front of Celtic’s sitting “number six” midfielder.

In 23 games this season for Hacken, the Ivorian has three goals and three assists. He has also appeared in all six of their Europa League group stage matches.

Even yet, Amane’s team shockingly finished last in their group, earning 0 points against Molde, Qarabag, and Leverkusen.

Given that David Turnbull’s contract is about to expire, Celtic will need to think about adding offensive midfield players in the next month.

Paulo Bernardo and Odin Thiago Holm have talent, but they haven’t yet proven to be Rodgers’ regular starters.

Amane is apparently someone the scouting team is interested in, so they will be keeping an eye on him in the next weeks.
