Wolves and Celtic have allegedly “made contact” over the recruitment of striker Fabio Silva.
The statement “Hoops have been in touch with the Premier League side regarding the forward” comes from Football Scotland.
Silva began his career with the Molineux club in the summer of 2022. He then went on loan to PSV Eindhoven and Anderlecht.
This season, he has made ten appearances for Wolves and has scored one in the League Cup.
With the Asian Cup approaching and the possibility of Kyogo Furuhashi and Oh Hyeon-gyu being called up for Japan and South Korea, respectively, Brendan Rodgers is eager to add a striker to his team.
In the meantime, Celtic has denied any involvement in the tournament and issued a statement reaffirming their position on the recent European Super League court verdict.
This occurs after the dissident groups involved prevailed in their Thursday court battle.
Furthermore, the Scottish champions have reiterated their intention to remain in the UEFA structure.
Celtic Football Club has taken note of the ruling rendered by the European Court of Justice today, according to a statement from the club.
“Outdated UEFA statutes that were previously revised in June 2022 are referenced in the resolution establishing the framework for prior authorization of other tournaments.
It is important to clarify that this does not support or approve of the ‘Super League’ initiative in any manner.
“As a club, Celtic is totally committed to working via the European Club Association, with our sister European clubs, to maintain the ideals that characterize European football. Celtic plays an important, leading role within the ECA framework.
The only way we can accomplish our goals is by using the solid collaboration that ECA has with UEFA.
“The wider European football community is not supportive of the ESL, and Celtic, like many other clubs, will continue to promote the interests and protection of football’s broader family through the ECA and UEFA.”
