Rangers and Celtic are on high alert for the European Super League, according to shock fans, which is fueling their plans for rebellion.

Rangers and Celtic have been made aware of a recent survey that indicates a portion of soccer supporters are in favor of the proposed European Super League.

The football community strongly opposed the idea and the plans for a breakaway league for Europe’s best in 2021, but teams like Barcelona, Juventus, and Real Madrid are still eager to push the plans through. Supported by the December verdict by the European Court of Justice that UEFA and FIFA erred in their decision to thwart plans for the breakaway league nearly three years ago, Sports Management organization A22 has put out a new model that would include sixty-four European teams.

The competition’s promoters have commissioned Opinion Way, a French company, to poll supporters throughout Europe regarding their opinions of the new plans. Support for the proposed proposals was strong among Chelsea and Manchester City supporters, accounting for 65% of the 835 UK fans surveyed. 509 UK fans were disappointed because they were part of the original ‘big six’ English teams that attempted to establish the Super League.

72% of respondents overall were either slightly or very in favor of the new format that A22 had suggested. Support was highest in the younger age group, with 86% of the 956 respondents who were between the ages of 15 and 24 responding “yes.”

“We have evidence that the desire for a European Super League as a much more exciting alternative to the current European club football competition is stronger than ever,” stated Bernd Reichart, chief executive of A22.

In December, Celtic declared, “Like many other clubs, we will continue to promote the interests and protection of football’s broader family through the ECA and UEFA. The wider European football community is not supportive of the ESL.” “We will continue to work with ECA and UEFA to uphold the true principles of European football,” declared Rangers, who agreed.

Javier Tebas, the head of La Liga, is adamantly opposed. “A22 want a few clubs, with the most assets, the richest clubs – to dominate the European football eco-system,” he stated at the Football Summit in London. Compared to the 2019 model, this one is considerably worse. We turned that one down as well as this one.
