Nicolas Kuhn to Celtic transfer state of play amid Rapid Vienna selling temptation

Nicolas Kuhn could be edging closer to a move from Rapid Vienna to Celtic after comments made by the club’s sporting director Markus Katzer.

The winger is on the Hoops’ transfer radar and initial reports claimed he could be signed for around £2.5million.

Kuhn has seven goals and 10 assists across 18 months in the Austrian Bundesliga after joining from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2022.

Katzer has previously attempted to quell any speculation by stating: “I assume that everyone will be with us in the second half of the season,

“I haven’t heard anything to the contrary.” However, the club official seems to have changed his tune in recent days.

Speaking to Sky Sports, he said: “Every player has his price. If the offer is right, of course you have to deal with it.”

Meanwhile, Celtic hero Chris Sutton insists “there are still question marks ” over Brendan Rodgers’ side.

The Hoops currently sit top of the Scottish Premiership but faltered in both the League Cup and Champions League.

And Sutton feels the January window will be vital for the Parkhead side.

“I think there are still question marks. Europe was a massive disappointment, we can’t get away from that,” he told Sky Sports.

“In the league they’ve shown inconsistency comparing this team to Ange Postecoglou’s team where Celtic were fast and furious.

“This season it’s been a struggle at times. Brendan Rodgers has talked about getting a better quality of player in but he also talked at the start of the season about understanding the model.

“So January is really one to watch out for. Are they going to go for more experienced players, who have been there and done it and are going to cost a hell of a lot of money?
