Nick Montgomery believes a Parkhead star made a confession to Hibs, and he uses a Celtic witness to fuel his fury over penalties.

Nick Montgomery attacked VAR for sabotaging any potential comeback attempt by Hibs at Parkhead.

The Easter Road coach was furious after Celtic was given a penalty for the third goal following Alistair Johnston’s foul by Lewis Stevenson.Montgomery realizes his side’s aspirations were dashed when the video referee gave in to the crowd’s influence. “The player who actually went down didn’t even think it was a penalty,” the speaker stated. He didn’t believe that he was touched. That’s what he later told the boys.

Lewis Stevenson falls to the side of him rather than the rear of him, thus he is not going to catch the ball and it hasn’t changed where it will go. He is already falling. Give a penalty if he had gone through his back without any issues. However, when one speaks about a gathering such as this in public spaces when everyone is yelling… Perhaps I could get the Hibs supporters to yell whenever a player is taken out.

Since we haven’t received a penalty yet, perhaps we will. However, that wasn’t the cause of our game defeat. But we have an uphill battle because we are trailing 3-0 at Celtic due to two cheap goals and a penalty.

Montgomery believes that even though his team lost 4-1, they were still in the battle. “I’m proud of the effort and the way we played,” he remarked, “because it takes courage, and we had courage.” There were some very excellent play segments where we could have scored a few more goals on a different day.

Given the way we conceded goals in the first half of the match, we most likely didn’t earn anything from it. However, the boys persevered, we managed to score, and Ellie Youan also struck the crossbar.

“Thus, while I’m happy with the boys’ effort, I’m upset with the outcome and the first two goals we gave up. It’s not necessary for me to notify the lads because they are also disappointed. You cannot come into a top-tier side like Celtic and concede goals. They must force you to work for them. They also failed to achieve those two objectives.

We were aware that we might cause them issues if we arrived here and failed to give up careless goals. We still have momentum and are confident in our ability to run strong. Right now, we are only thinking about this weekend’s next game.
